Welcome to Winding Creek Elementary School.
Upon the anticipated opening in 2018, Winding Creek will become the eighth elementary school in the Cumberland Valley School District. The new school will service students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. After completing 5th grade, students are set to attend Good Hope Middle School.
Based on the
Redistribution Plan approved by the Cumberland Valley School Board, Winding Creek Elementary will become home to students and families currently enrolled at Green Ridge Elementary, Hampden Elementary, Sporting Hill Elementary, and Shaull Elementary. Winding Creek is being built with the anticipation of housing an estimated 700+ students. Our grade levels will, on average, be built with five teachers per grade level. Class sizes will fall within the thresholds set forth by Cumberland Valley School District.
Our school population encompasses a diverse population, which has given our students the wonderful opportunity to learn from each other. Our staff is dedicated to serving each child as an individual and providing a rich learning experience where every student is encouraged to meet his or her potential.
The
Winding Creek faculty and staff will be built with a strong foundation of teachers, a guidance counselor, nurse, and support staff. The professional staff will include specialists in reading clinic, instructional specialists, speech, ESL (English as a Second Language), OT (Occupational Therapy), psychology, and learning support. In addition to standard instruction in language arts, math, science, and social studies, CV elementary schools also provide art, music, library, computer, and physical education.
During the 2017-2018 school year we will begin to partner with our future parents to build a healthy Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). This organization will provide many of the events that will make our school a special place.
